Veronica (Vicky) Frisch was born and raised in Haiti. Her Haitian and European origins influenced her art. Veronica’s distinctive use of bright and vivid colours with acrylics and watercolours to create abstracts, portraits and nature pieces was influenced by her Haitian culture. Being surrounded by talented artists such as her mother Paulette Deschamps Frisch and her mothers artist friends Tamara Baussan, Marie Jose Nadal, Prefet Dufaut… brought about her love of art at a very young age. She took art classes with famous Haitian artists such as Tiga, Jean-Claude Legagneur and Nehemy Jean. She attended Barry University in Miami, Florida, USA, ESMOD Nice in France and in 2008 she took a professional level in Decorative art in AlAMED / SORMED in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. In 2009, Veronica founded CREATIS, an Atelier in Petion-Ville, Haiti. CREATIS teaches children, adolescents and adults in various art media. After the devastating earthquake on the 12th of January 2010, CREATIS and other professionals worked with underprivileged adolescents, giving them a place to express themselves. Veronica has had private and group art expositions in Haiti, Europe and in the US. She is a good example of multi cultural artist but she is mostly influence by her Haitian heritage where the sun shines, where bright and vivid colors unite with canvases.
